An £18m construction company which has grown significantly over the last couple of years. Their Head of Finance, who has worked their way up through the finance function, is ready for the next stage of their career: finance director.
We provided a CFO with extensive experience in the construction sector to mentor and grow the new FD to help them think more strategically, become a respected voice on the board and establish effective reporting.
This was initially a 6-month trial but has been extended to include other senior leadership team members.
Industry: Education management
Instructed to provide FD mentoring to upskill current strategic management and support the business during a period of high growth as it looks to expand considerably within the next three years. Our FD provided advice on what a private equity-backed business looks like, how to step from a financial controller to a strategic FD. Ultimately, the financial controller was appointed as an FD.
Industry: IT infrastructure and solutions
Initially engaged on an interim basis, but this soon evolved into the provision of mentoring and support to a newly appointed CFO. From the outset, we worked alongside the CFO to prioritise the improvement measures that were required for the individual and wider team. Following the provision of our FD mentoring services, the company has generated a 30% increase in revenue since summer 2019.
